Partners Ken Kasdan, Stephen Weber, Michael Turner and Robert Brina will continue to lead the representation of owners of single-family homes, multifamily housing (condos, high rise, lofts, and apartments) and commercial properties for the recovery of damages resulting from defective construction. The firm also represents homeowner associations, and its’ commercial representation includes institutional structures, houses of worship, and municipal properties.
The firm utilizes a team approach in handling its construction defect cases. A partner and associate attorneys are assigned responsibility for each case and coordinate the efforts of a team of paralegals and legal assistants, as well as knowledgeable and experienced construction and materials experts and consultants. The firm practice is limited to California and Arizona, and includes all State and Federal courts. However, on a case-by-case basis and upon special admission, Kasdan Weber Turner has represented clients in Nevada, Colorado, Texas, New York, Kansas, Washington, and Pennsylvania.
The firm regularly participates in conferences, seminars, and other educational programs for professionals, industry associations, and the public. The firm also actively participates in legislative efforts to improve the judicial environment for clients, primarily property owners, and serves as amicus curiae (“friend of the court”) in substantial cases involving protection of property owner rights. Kasdan Weber Turner also participates in professional associations that may be involved in construction defect issues, such as several chapters of the Community Associations Institute (CAI), the California Association of Community Manager (CACM), the Apartment Owners Association, and the Educational Committee for Homeowners (ECHO).
